The City of Helena provides curbside blue-bag recycling to city residential properties. The first Monday of every month starts the recycling week – put your blue bags alongside but not blocking your garbage container and the City will pick it up on the recycling route. The bags can be separated as followed: One bag filled with aluminum/steel and the other with newspaper/magazine/ paper. City residents can pick up the special blue recycling bags for free at the Helena Transfer Station or at the Independent Record downtown on Cruse. Please don't include plastics, glass, or other materials. For a list of dates, please see the City of Helena Blue Bag Program website.
Notes:
For more information about the upcoming plastics colluction, see our plastics page.

- Phone books must now be recycled separately from newspaper. Phone books will
be taken by the Pacific for a month or more following the distribution of new
phone books.
